Avengers vs X-Men #2: Round Two

Cyclops leads the X-Men to fight off the Avengers to protect Hope.

Wanda’s diary reveals that she sees the world ending with the arrival of the Phoenix.

Hope does not want to be protected. She is upset that she does not have a say in a fight that involves her at the center of it all.






Captain America tries to reason with Cyclops, but dragging Jean into the exchange only angers Cyclops more. Cyclops cites this as proof that Captain America is ignorant about the Phoenix Force and mutant affairs, and dismisses Captain America’s source, Wolverine, as a “lunatic fringe”.

Hope summons the power of the Phoenix and easily defeats anyone who stands in her way. She escapes from Utopia and heads for outer space. Beast and a team of Avengers lie waiting.
