In order to stop aliens from invading Manhattan, the Avengers and X-Men are forced to act swiftly. As a result, there were numerous civilian casualties.
An angry Frank Castle opens fire at the Avengers and X-Men. Because he “murdered some of [the] nation’s greatest heroes”, he is sentenced to “life imprisonment”.
He is bailed out by a group of humans living high up in the Adirondack Mountains. Their lives have been ruined by super-powered beings and they want Frank Castle to help them seek revenge.
